Doriel writes deeply personal stories about love, loss, and the small moments that stay with us long after they’re over. Pieces like “You Mugged My Heart” follow real experiences with vivid detail, sharing the thoughts, emotions, and conversations that shaped those memories. Her goal is to make readers feel like they are right there beside her, seeing the world through her eyes and recognizing parts of their own story along the way. These longer works are perfect for anyone who enjoys getting fully immersed in a true, heartfelt narrative.

I never thought I’d finalize
The things that I have realized
As we are told we can not go
I found myself just saying no
Captivity in home and space
Made us look at fears we face
Time heals the smallest hearts
Yet you left us strangely far apart
They say we’re “in this all together”
But many; it just doesn’t matter
Forward now and try to remember
Because this could last until December
Here we go, I thought I knew
That this sickness would be through of you
But here we are three months and more
I sit a home and can’t ignore
Vaccines sitting on my shelves
That I can’t sign up for myself
Another year will easily pass
While the politicians fight for cash
And most of them will get their stash
Please just give me one more break
And think of the bodies for Christ sake
So now I’m bored and just confused
And certainly not more amused
Stop already, because I’m just done
And certainly not having much fun.

In addition to her longer pieces, Doriel writes shorter stories and reflections that capture quick flashes of feeling and insight. These might focus on a single moment, a brief encounter, or a thought that won’t quite let go, turning everyday experiences into something meaningful. Each one is written to be read in just a few minutes, but to leave a much longer impression in the reader’s mind. They’re ideal for people who want something honest and emotional without committing to a full-length story.

Doriel also creates poetry and personal notes that offer a more intimate window into her thoughts. Some pieces are soft and reflective, others are more direct and raw, but all of them are written with the intention of being felt rather than just read. These poems and notes often pair beautifully with her artwork or stand alone as small moments of expression that people can return to again and again. They’re a way for readers to connect with her creative world in a quieter, more personal way.
