Lockdown Realizations
By Doriel Wyler•3 min read

"I never thought I’d finalize the things that I have realized. A poetic journey through home captivity, societal stillness, and inner reflection during uncertain times."
I never thought I’d finalize
The things that I have realized
As we are told we can not go
I found myself just saying no
Captivity in home and space
Made us look at fears we face
Time heals the smallest hearts
Yet you left us strangely far apart
They say we’re “in this all together”
But many; it just doesn’t matter
Forward now and try to remember
Because this could last until December
Here we go, I thought I knew
That this sickness would be through of you
But here we are three months and more
I sit a home and can’t ignore
Vaccines sitting on my shelves
That I can’t sign up for myself
Another year will easily pass
While the politicians fight for cash
And most of them will get their stash
Please just give me one more break
And think of the bodies for Christ sake
So now I’m bored and just confused
And certainly not more amused
Stop already, because I’m just done
And certainly not having much fun.
